WHAT IS YIN YOGA?
Yin Yoga is a very gentle way of yoga. Positions are held for a long time (up to 6 minutes) so that our body has time and peace to arrive in the position, feel the breath flow and stimulate deep tissue structures (fascias).
Exercises are practiced in a sitting or lying position. Yoga aids such as blocks, blankets, belts and bolsters are used to relieve the body, reduce muscle strength and give the nervous system the impulse to let go.
Yin Yoga is based on the meridian teachings of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and uses elements of mindfulness training and meditation teachings.
WHAT ARE FASCIAS?
Organs, muscles, bones, joints - they all have a set place in our bodies. They are surrounded and held together by a whole network of tissue of varying thickness and strength, which provides for shaping and maintenance of shape: the fascias.
They support the functioning of the muscle system, transmit mechanical forces, and offer protection against various injuries. In addition, fascias perform an important function around cell metabolism as well as for the immune system.
YIN YOGA AND ACUPUNCTURE
Various authors report that many of the fascial gaps correspond to acupuncture points. The fascias are home to fine nerve endings, which are part of the autonomous nervous system and therefore responsible for many of the body's reactions.
YIN YOGA OFFERS AN EFFECTIVE COMPLEMENT TO ...
... acupuncture, osteopathy and cupping, among others.

Testimonials:
"Yin Yoga is a form of movement that represents a complementary alternative to osteopathy and acupuncture. The exercises strengthen and mobilize the spine and joints and stretch and strengthen the muscles. This results in better blood circulation and supply. Holding positions for a long time acts like an invisible needle on the energy pathways of our entire system, increasing general well-being and addressing the deep structures of muscles and joints. Yin Yoga proves to be a supporting measure in alleviating discomfort in the entire locomotive system and in establishing inner balance". -Osteopath & Doctor for Orthopedics, Naturopathy & Acpuncture
"In working with Saskia, I quickly experienced that not only my physical condition plays an essential role, but also my mental condition. Saskia put together a healthy set of exercises for my body and mind. She had a very good intuition when selecting appropriate yoga positions and breathing exercises. Very sensitively, she introduced me to her training program. Through this program, Saskia has given me the opportunity to have a pain-free everyday life". -Gaby B.
"Without pressuring me, Saskia challenged me, and thereby, I could open myself. Thanks to Saskia´s openness, which makes me feel less alone and weird. For a long time, I thought about things other than my "problems", which made my sessions very valuable.” -Dirk S.
